Frontal sinus or forehead fractures – if the sinus wall is involved in the fracture, a double Y fixation plate can be used to cover the defect.
Mandible (lower jaw) fractures – particularly in the symphyseal or parasymphyseal region, where bone fragments could be displaced in several directions
Pediatric craniofacial fractures – children have very thin bones, so a 1.5mm double Y-plate may be a better match for them than a 2.0mm plate.
