Anterior Cervical Fusion Cage Zero-Profile Implant
An Anterior Cervical Fusion Cage Zero-Profile Implant, also functioning as a Zero-Profile Cervical Fusion Cage, is a device that can be used in a fusion intervention, particularly in ACDF (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion) surgery. The device is beneficial in regaining the lost disc height as well as in preserving the proper cervical alignment. Moreover, it is possible to use integrated screws in the device to offer segmental stability. This cervical spine implant is structurally reliable because it is made of radiolucent PEEK, yet it has titanium markers for easy identification in a radiographic image.
The zero-profile concept of the device permits it to be situated entirely within the intervertebral space, and, thus, it is less likely to cause irritation of the anterior soft tissues. In addition, the anterior plate is not necessary anymore because the device itself compensates for that.
